     Kawah putih is a striking creater lake and tourist spot in a volcanic crater about 50 KM south of Bandung in West Java in Indonesia.
     Kawah Putih lake is one of the two craters which make up Mount Patuha, an andestic stratovolcano. Mount Patuha is one of numerous volcanoes in Java.
     Kawah Putih crater lake itself represent a relatively stable volcanic system with no records of significant activity. But in 27th of July Kawah Putih crater have an eruption that makes the citizen and netizen worried. But now everthing is save.


       The lake is said to have been first documented in the western world in 1837 by Dr Franz Wilhelm Junghuhn, a German botanist who carried out a considerable amount of research in Indonesia until his death in Lembang, just north of Bandung, in 1864. At the time, there were various local stories about the history of the area. Birds were said to be reluctant to fly near the region and villagers in the area tended to regard the forest around the lake as eerie and somewhat mysterious. These stories prompted Dr Junghuhn to investigate. He discovered Kawah Putih. There was formerly a sulfur mine at the crater although production has now ceased. 


     The ticket to enter Kawah Putih is cheap it cost around 15,000 rupiah for weekdays and weekend. If we didn't take any vehicle we can take 'Ontang - Anting'. What is 'Ontang - Anting' ?. 
Ontang - Anting comes from the sundanese language which means 'Bolak - Balik' and is a term for typical vehicle of the Kawah Putih crater Ciwidey. This vehicle is a mini bus that has been modified to be open and equipped with safety. The maximum capacity for one earring is 12 people, but dont worry about not getting any 'Ontang - Anting', it's because there are many ontang - anting operating in that area. 


     I love to go to Kawah Putih it's because the scenery and it have a beautiful air, buit for medical reason I cannot stay in Kawah Putih for so long, it because I have asthma. And it makes me hard to breathe if I stay too long in Kawah Putih. But overall I love Kawah Putih because it makes me grateful of Allah SWT. Kawah Putih will always be my favourite place to come when I grow up.
